NORTH HILLS -- Four people are dead after a crash in the North Hills area of Los Angeles that scattered body parts and debris along a half-mile stretch of roadway, authorities said.

The accident was reported just after midnight along the 16600 block of Roscoe Boulevard, near the Van Nuys Airport.

Officer Gregory Baek says a yellow 2007 Corvette was speeding when it hit a guardrail, skidded about 200 feet, crossed some railroad tracks and came to rest upside down.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A bad accident near the Tigerland area of LSU has left a 21-year-old man dead.
The single vehicle crash happened near Alvin Dark Drive and Sharlo Avenue, just off Brightside Drive around 2:00 Thursday morning.
Police say the driver lost control of his Corvette and hit a tree.

LUBBOCK, TEXAS (KCBD) - April 1, 2009 - Officials with the Department of Public Safety says speed is likely a factor in a deadly accident in South Lubbock County overnight.

A Chevrolet Corvette was discovered after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, inside the gates of South Plains Truck Equipment on Woodrow Road, just west of the Tahoka Highway. The driver, now identified as Donald L. Mickens Jr., 40, was thrown from the vehicle as it rolled several times. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

St. Petersburg, Florida � A deady crash, chase, then surprise for a St. Pete homeowner. St. Petersburg police say a white Chevy Malibu T-boned a red Corvette at the intersection of 36th Avenue and 34th Street North. The driver of the Corvette died. Florida Highway Patrol quickly responded because witnesses say the trooper was behind the car. Police say the suspect in the car, William Watson, took off running after the accident. Authorities say Watson ran into an occupied home on 27th Avenue North, where he allegedly beat up the resident. St. Pete police also say Watson ran into a second home and committed a burglary. He was then caught and taken into police custody. Watson faces several charges including drug posession, burglary, fleeing and eluding and vehicular homicide. Sacramento, CA - Oct. 7, 2007 Four people died, including a toddler and an infant, when a pickup towing a trailer lost control on Interstate 80 Sunday morning and was broadsided by another truck, California Highway Patrol officials said. The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 80 along the Bryte Bend Bridge over the Sacramento River between Yolo and Sacramento counties, CHP spokeswoman Officer Lizz Dutton said. Dutton said the four were traveling eastbound on 80 towing a trailer carrying a Corvette when the driver lost control of the 2006 Nissan Frontier and hit the guard rail. The trailer and Corvette detached and the driver of an oncoming box truck was unable to get out of the way, slamming into the pickup broadside, Dutton said. The driver, identified as a 22-year-old man from Clinton, Utah, was pronounced dead at the scene as was a 22-year-old female passenger. The infant and toddler were transported to the UC Davis Medical Center, where they died a short time later. The driver of the box truck, Jarber Chavarria, 33, of Vallejo and a passenger were not injured. Eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were shut down for nearly five hours by the crash. The lanes were reopened around 11:45 a.m.

Wichita Falls police find a suspect dead in the road after a crash.

Take a look at the damage to the vehicle. Police say during the overnight hours, 22 year old David Solis crashed a 2007 Corvette on the 100 block of Fort Worth.

Police say earlier, they tried to pull over Solis because the Corvette was reported stolen. A chase started on Barnett and got up to 100 miles per hour, it was too dangerous so officers backed off and lost the driver.

They later found Solis's body pinned under the car.

CASTRO VALLEY (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― Two Castro Valley teens were killed early Tuesday when the speeding Corvette they were in smashed into a power pole and overturned, authorities said.
The Alameda County coroner's bureau said 18-year-old Clark Wright and 17-year-old Sarah Streicher were pronounced dead at the scene after Wright lost control of the car and it ran off Dublin Canyon Road, just east of Eden Canyon Road, at 12:43 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said it was investigating whether the horrific crash was caused by street racing.
CHP investigators indicated the 1997 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling at high speed when it skidded 300 feet, left the road and hit a chain-link fence and utility pole before overturning and coming to rest on its roof.
The impact of the crash splintered the car into several pieces, according to CHP Officer Steve Creel.
Authorities believe the Corvette had been racing another car in another direction on the road sometime before the crash, but investigators had not determined yet whether the Corvette was still racing at the time Wright lost control.
Creel said officers were still trying to locate the other car, a 2004 BMW M3, and determine if it had any involvement in the crash.

September 23, 2007 COLLIER COUNTY - FLORIDA: Two people died early Sunday morning in a violent crash along I-75. The Florida Highway Patrol said 26-year-old Michael Price, of Bonita Springs, was speeding northbound near Pine Ridge Road on I-75 when he lost control of his vehicle around 2 a.m. According to troopers, the 2006 Corvette that Price was driving was totaled when it veered off the road and slammed into a tree, splitting the car down the middle. The rear end of the Corvette burst into flames upon impact. Price was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Nicole Weber, 26, of Naples was riding in the car at the time of the accident and also died. Troopers are unsure if alcohol played a role in the fatal accident or if either victim was wearing a seat belt. © 2007 by NBC2 NEWS.

Police have identified two brothers who died in an overnight in a wreck on Hefner Road, about one-fourth mile west of County Line Road.

Kevin L. Green, 26 and Eric T Green, 28 were found dead Friday morning after their mangled Corvette, was found in a fenced area near the intersection. Police said the brothers were traveling west on Hefner at a high rate of speed lost control, went off the road and crashed through a wood fence.
