Description:  Officials say the accident unfolded when North Miami Beach Police spotted a Chevy Corvette traveling at a high rate of speed at 125 Street and Biscayne Boulevard. They were accompanied by North Miami Police who continued with them on a 10-block pursuit before breaking away from the chase. The driver of the Corvette, Gerard Bellafiore, 37, eventually lost control of his vehicle, slamming it into a light pole in the area of Northeast 88 Street and Biscayne Boulevard. The force of the impact caused his car to flip into the air and explode into flames. When the vehicle finally came to rest, it happened to be on several brand new Sports Utility Vehicles parked at the Tropical Chevrolet dealership. All of the cars, including the Corvette, were completely destroyed.
